The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is again proving its concern for making education at the higher level reachable with relaxing the application timeline for the July 2024 session. This extension has therefore come as a blessing to many would-be students who wish to apply for different courses and programs offered at the university at undergraduate, post graduate, diploma and certificate levels.
Extension of the online application submission date by the Indira Gandhi National Open University The institution had earlier stated that before July 15th, the applicants have to upload their online applications through the IGNOU Admission Portal only. But as stated in the most recent announcement by the university management, students are allowed to choose their intended UG or PG course up to July 31.
How to Apply?

Applying to IGNOU is a straightforward process. Here’s a step-by-step guide for prospective students:

Can Students Enroll in IGNOU After the Deadline?

As a rule, to get the admission to IGNOU, it is impossible to apply within the stated time gap. But depending on the course or program, there may be peculiar circumstances or legalization and university discretion as may be deemed fit.
But the best news, though, is that you may still apply for admission through the “late admission” channel even if you did not register for IGNOU admission on the dates mentioned above. This option allows the students to make their application after the due date and for this they have to pay an amount, which is known as late fee.
Choices for IGNOU Late Admissions:
Delayed Deadlines: IGNOU occasionally extends the deadlines for applications; this was the case for the July 2024 session. It’s a good idea to often check for any such updates on the official IGNOU website or by following them on social media.
Late cost: IGNOU occasionally permits late admissions for a cost. This fluctuates from session to session and is not a definite choice.
Get in touch with Regional Centers: Interested students can get in touch with their specific regional centers to find out more about any potential special accommodations or late admissions.
Next Admission Cycle: Students may apply for the following admission cycle if they are unable to get admitted late. January and July are the two main admission cycles that IGNOU normally provides each year.
